STOP LYING TO YOURSELF

Stop Lying
PART I

Your doing nothing profits you nothing;
Your admission of defeat gains no solace from me; and,
Your peace of mind is not in taking a piece of mines.
And so it is in delivering your masterpiece that you find pieces of the master that delivers through you; no whines.
This should have been my focus but I was too busy lying.
Let me lay it out for you cause I should’ve seen the signs

I’m only a man but my spirit craves more
You’re only a woman but your spirit begs for life
Stop lying to me carrying on about the things you adore
When you knew from jump we would never be husband and wife.
Neither of us wants to cry; we’re too strong for that
But the math of the facts says you plus me equals a trap
What do we do now to change
When you and I both are as hollow as the stats?
Before we go any further, let’s stop lying about this crap
Before we end up with little feet on floors: pitter-pat

Seems I been looking for love in all the wrong places
And staying just a little too long. Catching cases
When I knew I should have run back out as soon as I arrived
But, hey, look at that… I need to tie my shoelaces?
Better wait a few seconds more before we go.

Your lying to yourself so stop it! You didn’t have to cop it.
You didn’t have to be out there advertising to “p” pop it
Just cause he was hot — which made you hot –you went ahead and dropped it
And that’s when you noticed your shoes were untied
M M M… I’ll say it again. Stop it.

Keep it as simple as A, B, C’s; 1, 2, 3’s; and, do, re, mi’s
